Wade Ganes is a Southern California artist who’s been practicing

art and landscape architecture since 2000. He was raised in the

Midwest but has spent his professional career as a Landscape

Architect and Artist in California.

The inspiration for his work comes from his life experiences that

he abstracts into color and form. He starts with simple pencil

drawings that he then paints over with an ink brush. From there, he

brings his work into the computer and begins to refine the ink by

making it smooth and sinuous. After that, he applies the color. The

application of color is what brings him the most joy during the

process, as he feels that it is in that moment when the work really

starts to come alive.

After the color application, the art is typically printed on brushed

aluminum, which he feels provides a life of its own when viewing

the piece from various angles and light sources.
